Alamoulou’ means ‘Rainbow’

          In the Carib tongue

That is why my calypso spans a spectrum of verse and song          I sing of love and war, of sorrow and laughter            And I sing for fun

And if I mainly treat of these islands

It’s cause I love the Caribbean

But I leave the talk of sleaze and of personalities            To other kaisonians

And if I seem to seize on human weaknesses            My real theme is of Redemption”

            (from ‘I don’t care, but I care’ – (1999))
